RSV Outbreak at LTC home declared over

Riverside Health Care in conjunction with the Northwestern Public Health Unit has declared the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Outbreak over at Rainycrest Long Term Care Home, effective April 24, 2020.

The public is reminded that Pandemic Infection Control Practices and Restricted Visitor Access is still in effect.

COVID death in region

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has confirmed the first death related to COVID-19 in Northwestern Ontario.

According to the TBDHU, a man in his 50s passed away on Thursday night at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre from complications of COVID-19.

The health unit said the man had underlying health conditions.

Kasper suspending operations

Kasper Transportation notified the Ministry of Transportation that the company will be suspending operations of all routes effective Saturday, May 2, 2020. The decrease in revenue caused by the COVID-19 pandemic makes it financially irresponsible to continue operations at this time.

On Saturday, April 25, 2020, at approximately 12:30 a.m., police received a report of a missing female, Payton AFFLECK. She was last seen in the area of Fourth Street North and was last observed wearing shorts and a sports bra.

Formula One hopes season starts July 5

PARIS — The Formula One season could start in July despite the first 10 races being cancelled or postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic, F1 chairman Chase Carey said Monday.

The French Grand Prix on Monday cancelled its race scheduled for June 28 rather than postponing it, making July 5 the targeted start date at the Austrian GP in Spielberg.

Former Humboldt Bronco member to play NCAA hockey

ASHLAND, Wis. — Graysen Cameron, who broke his back in the Humboldt Broncos bus crash two years ago, has committed to play NCAA hockey for Northland College in Wisconsin.

The 20-year-old from Olds, Alta., was captain of the Broncos this past season. Northland College is an NCAA Division 3 school.
