Mark and Jennifer Cawston wrote down their memories of Confederation College into the school's celebration book yesterday during the Fort Frances campus's 50th anniversary celebration reception. The campus was filled with staff, students, and past graduates who had a chance to reconnect and reminisce about their experiences at Confederation College.

The Fort Frances Lakers exchanged handshakes and pleasantries with the English River Miners after their 2-1 overtime win in Game 4 of the best-of-five quarter-final playoff series Monday night at the Ice For Kids Arena.

The move by Emo Feed to their new store across the street from their existing store is moving along. Emo Feed will open for business on Monday (April 2) in their new quarters.

MONTREAL—Prime Minister Justin Trudeau touted his government's commitment to transparency and its tough stance on the wealthy at a high-priced fundraiser yesterday attended by some of Montreal's elite.

Before beginning his remarks to the roughly 150 Liberal party donors in attendance, Trudeau thanked Stephen Bronfman, a major party fundraiser and well-known businessman and financier.

OTTAWA—Health Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor said the federal government has reached millions of young Canadians through various, intensive public education campaigns aimed at informing them about the health and safety risks of using cannabis.

Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson will formally apologize next month for past discrimination against residents of Chinese descent.

The apology will acknowledge the wrongdoings of past legislation, regulations and policies of previous Vancouver city councils.

OTTAWA—Last June, Science Minister Kirsty Duncan hung out the “we're hiring” sign and dangled grants of up to $1 million to try and lure some of the best and brightest international researchers to come to work in Canada.

Nine months later, 24 scientists have been given the nod, 10 of whom are Canadians coming home from all over the world.

Duncan calls it a “brain gain.”

AQUINNAH, Mass.—A Massachusetts woman has filed a federal lawsuit accusing her tenant of using her Martha's Vineyard home to shoot pornographic videos without telling her.

The lawsuit filed this week says Leah Bassett had no idea when she rented out her home in 2014 that it would be used to shoot adult films.
