The Rainy River District OPP was notified of a single motor-vehicle collision on Highway 71 in Chapple Township on Saturday around 8 a.m.

A 23-year-old Northwest Angle First Nation woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Fort Frances for breath tests.

She was charged with having a blood alcohol level over 80 mg and driving while suspended.

At 7:44 a.m. today, the Rainy River District OPP responded to the report of a train/motor vehicle collision on Lauzon Road in the Township of Dawson.

A 2016 Dodge Caravan collided with a Canadian National Railway freight train.

As a result, three occupants of the van were taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The train crew suffered no injuries.

The Sioux Lookout Warriors were viewed as an up-and-coming team in the NorWOSSA girls’ hockey during the pre-season.

It seems as though they still have a way to go before meeting those expectations.

The three-time defending league champion Muskies made it business as usual against the host Warriors late last week—cruising to a two-game sweep to kick off the regular season.

WASHINGTON — Some varieties of Sabra hummus are being recalled amid concerns over possible listeria contamination.

The Food and Drug Administration says the voluntary recall announced by Sabra Dipping Company includes hummus products with a “Best Before” date of Jan. 23, 2017, or earlier. The products were sent to retailers in the U.S. and Canada.
