Two more COVID-19 cases in region
Two new travel-related cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Northwestern region, according to the NWHU. The cases are both travel-related, and reside in Red Lake.
“We have done a thorough follow-up with the cases, and anyone affected has been contacted and are in quarantine," said a Twitter post from the NWHU. "Please assume COVID-19 is in your community.”
OPP encourages COVID-19 compliance

(IGNACE, ON) - Members of The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Ignace Detachment are requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing female.
Nicole Etherington, 47 years of age of Ignace, Ont. was reported missing on April 5, 2020 and was last seen on March 31, 2020 in Ignace, Ont. She is described as being 5'4", 160 pounds, long straight brown hair and blue eyes.

OTTAWA — Applications opened today for the new federal emergency aid benefit for Canadians who lost their income because of COVID-19.
The Canada Revenue Agency will open its application portals this morning to those born in the first three months of the year, with those born in other months able to apply later in the week.

Troops heading to CFB Borden
TORONTO — The military is advising people in the Toronto area to expect a large number of its personnel and vehicles on the roads starting on Monday.
The Department of National Defence says members of the Joint Task Force Central will be heading from units across Ontario to Canadian Forces Base Borden.
The movement is part of the government's fight against COVID-19.
Football Hall of Famer dies
WASHINGTON—Bobby Mitchell, the speedy Hall of Famer who became the Washington Redskins' first black player, has died. He was 84.
Mitchell split his career with the Cleveland Browns and Redskins and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1983. The Hall of Fame said last night that Mitchell's family said he died in the afternoon but didn't provide any other details.
Byron wins virtual NASCAR Bristol
CHARLOTTE, N.C.—William Byron led the most laps in NASCAR's first two virtual races and had nothing to show for his gaming skills. The third time out, he got the win.
Byron easily won the iRacing event yesterday at virtual Bristol Motor Speedway, where NASCAR would have been really racing before the coronavirus pandemic caused sports to shut down.
British Open cancelled
The British Open will not be played this year for the first time since 1945, with the R&A choosing to play golf's oldest championship next year at Royal St. George's and move the 150th Open at St. Andrews to 2022.
It was a major piece of golf trying to reconfigure a schedule brought on by the spread of the new coronavirus.
