Lakers suffer pair of losses

The Fort Frances Lakers' slow start to the SIJHL regular season continued over the weekend.

First-year forward Evan Walls tallied twice, and assisted on two more, to lead the Dryden GM Ice Dogs to a 5-1 win Saturday night at the Ice for Kids Arena here.

EDMONTON—Investigators were expected to update their investigation today into a weekend attack that left an Edmonton officer stabbed and four people injured when they were hit by a rental truck fleeing police.

Police have said terrorism and attempted murder charges are pending against the suspect, who has yet to be officially named.
