Pharmasave staff got into the Hallowe’en spirit this morning with these clever costumes. Kenora mill adds shift

After re-starting the sawmill in early 2016, Kenora Forest Products ramped up to full production today (Oct. 31) with the addition of a second shift in the planer and sawmill.

“There are now about 110 Unifor members working at the mill,” noted Stephen Boon, Unifor national representative.

Spooky fun awaits at Fort Frances Little Theatre’s “Haunted House,” which wraps this evening (Oct. 31) from 6-9 p.m. at the Fine Line Art Gallery on Mowat Avenue. Fright-seekers have flocked to the event each evening since it opened Friday. Admission is $5/person.

Lakers’ troubles continue

The Fort Frances Lakers are playing better hockey as of late—just not winning hockey.

Just one point out of a possible four went the way of the Lakers on the weekend, starting with a 4-3 shootout loss against the host Thunder Bay North Stars on Friday night.

Then they were doubled 4-2 by the Dryden GM Ice Dogs on Saturday at the Ice For Kids Arena.

Nickolas Wood, left, along with his older brothers, Christopher and Aaron, enjoyed decorating pumpkins at the Fort Frances Public Library on Friday afternoon. Two sessions were offered during the day off from school, with many of the pumpkins being entered into a contest to be voted on during today’s “Trunk or Treat” event there.
