New handivan eyed
The town is hoping to get government funding for a new handivan.
Council will be asked tonight to support an application to the federal Public Transit Infrastructure Fund (PTIF) for the purchase of a handivan in 2017.
Three killed in crash
On Saturday around 3:30 p.m., Atikokan OPP officers responded to a report of a single motor-vehicle accident involving a pickup truck.
The vehicle was eastbound on Little Falls Road in Atikokan when it drove through a low concrete barrier, went airborne, and landed in the Atikokan River at Little Falls.
Police and Emergency Medical Services attended the scene.
